Suddenly, at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, on Christmas Day, John of Howrigg Farm, Blencarn, Penrith, much loved brother of Peter, Margaret, Jean and Carol, a sadly missed brother-in-law, uncle and great-uncle and good friend to many. Aged 73 years. Service and cremation at Eden Valley Crematorium on Friday, 10th January at 12.30 pm. Peacefully, aged 85 years, on Saturday 21st December, Stephen, beloved husband of Rita, devoted father of Jonathan, Julia, James and the late Richard. Requiem Mass at St Catherine's Church, Penrith, on Monday 6th January, at 2:00pm, followed by a private committal at Eden Valley Crematorium. Service at St. Michael’s Church, Barton on Thursday, 9th January at 11.00am, followed by Private Committal at Eden Valley Crematorium. peacefully, at home surrounded by family, on her birthday, 16th December, Aged 92 years. Mary of County Durham, adored wife of the late George, beloved mum of Greg and mother-in-law of Ashley. Devoted Grandma to Nicole and Natasha, loving sister of Verna. Canon Keith Ernest, passed away peacefully at Furness General Hospital on Tuesday, 10th December, after a short illness, aged 91 years. Beloved widower of Audrey Doreen, dearly beloved father of David, Christopher, Andrew and Elisabeth, much-loved grandfather of Sam, Josh, Ayesha, Ben, Hal, Max and Flo and great-grandfather of Millie. Former Rector of Grasmere and Honorary Canon of Carlisle Cathedral, and latterly resident at Calgarth Park, Troutbeck Bridge, he will be fondly remembered for the love and joy he brought to his ministry in his many parishes around the country. Funeral Thanksgiving Service to be held at St Oswald’s Church, Grasmere, on Monday 6th January, at 11.00 am, followed by interment at Grasmere Cemetery.
